Gary was also a licensed spiritual counselor. These gifts carried him daily, regardless of his challenges. His sense of humor was contagious and it was coupled with kindness and a sincere hope and trust in God. Gary had the gift to create a spontaneous prayer to guide him and others to healing. He was a drummer who loved listening to WXRT. He enjoyed going to coffee shops and movies, and he was a life long fan of all things James Bond. He loved walking the Evanston beach with his wife, Toni, and skiing the slopes in Wyoming. From altar boy to minister, the family restaurant to Panera Bread, Gary developed a strong spiritual center that was always expressed with a positive focus and a fun loving attitude. Gary had a career in Restaurant Management beginning with more than 20 years at the family restaurant Mellow Yellow in Hyde Park.
He was a longtime resident of Evanston, IL. Born in Chicago, Gary attended St.Philip Neri grade school, Mt Carmel High School, Regis College, and the National College of Naprapathic Medicine in Chicago. A survivor of multiple myeloma for 17 years, his spiritual strength guided him throughout those years. Gary Richard Pelletier died peacefully on Septemat Journey Care Hospice of Glenview at the age of 60. He is predeceased by his parents, Kenneth Pelletier and Mary Ann Cummings. Gary is survived by his wife Toni, siblings Cathy and brother-in-law Peter Fonatsch (Jackson, WY), Dale and Susan Pelletier, Jeannine Pelletier, Mark and Claire Pelletier (Houston, TX), and his much beloved nieces and nephews, Natalie, Quinn, Anna, Madeline, Joseph, Luke and Katie.
